GARAN label: how the marketplaces handle it now
Otto and Kaufland have rendered the GARAN label platform-side since September 2026 once you supply the guarantee data. Amazon and eBay still offer none. Shopware shows it natively since 6.7.14.
What changed over the summer
A few weeks before the 27 September 2026 deadline, it is becoming clear how the major marketplaces handle the GARAN label and the statutory legal-guarantee notice. The picture splits in two.
Otto Market and Kaufland.de have implemented the labelling. Both provide the legal-guarantee notice automatically at platform level and render the GARAN label themselves once you supply the manufacturer, model and guarantee duration through the respective portal, a feed or the API. On Kaufland the label does not appear in the order-confirmation email, though, so you still need your own label file for that.
Amazon and eBay offer no platform-side solution. The information Amazon promised for mid-2026 never arrived; only brand owners can embed the label through an A+ content module, which requires Brand Registry. eBay merely allows your own HTML in the item description. On both marketplaces you create and place the label yourself.
And the shop systems?
Shopware shows the GARAN label natively in the storefront since 6.7.14 (released 9 September 2026) and the 6.6 backport, across all editions. Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and PrestaShop have no native feature, but third-party apps and extensions now exist.
What this means for you
Where the marketplace renders the label, you only supply the guarantee data. Everywhere else, on Amazon and eBay, for package inserts and print, for customer emails and for one consistent label across every channel, you generate it as a file with the GARAN Generator, one at a time or in a batch by CSV and API.
This draws on the Händlerbund marketplace check and an overview from IT-Recht Kanzlei, both from September 2026.
